What is some simple romantic dinner ideas for a beach picnic?
Posted on October 21st, 2009 by admin
I wanna take my boyfriend out for a nice romantic picnic down by the beach for our anniversary, but I’m not sure what to bring for us to eat. I need some good simple romantic dinner Ideas.
And we don’t drink, not even wine.
A grilled chicken breast/pasta salad with cherry tomatoes, green olives, chopped basil and green onion… tossed in a balsamic vinegrett, a sun dried tomato focattia (you can buy them in the bakery dept at the grocery store), some cold jasmine rice with lemon zest, red onion, fresh dill, drissled with a little lemon juice, white wine vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper, and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Bring some white wine for the meal and some champagne for dessert. If you are not old enough to drink, bring a sparkling apple cyder and some hot chocolate in a warming container. No way you could go wrong with that. Now I’m hungry…

Well, a picnic dinner is always a challenge. They key is generally have something that you can eat with your hands. Even putting a plate down on a blanket while on a beach while you’re trying to cut into a steak or something is just begging to get a mouthful of sand. For less formal meals, I always prefer a good quality baguette, a couple nice cheeses and a bottle of wine. If you’re willing to forgo larger pieces of protein and sides, you can always do a good baguette, cheese, sliced prosciutto or jamon serrano, maybe some sliced mozz, slices of fresh in-season veggies or something like that. If you’re looking for something a little bigger, if it’s not going to be a long drive to the beach, I’d recommend a basket of fried chicken.

Strawberries to share
Chocolates or brownies or cookies
Drinks, not sure on your age/drinking rules at your beach so I won’t suggest anything for this.
Have fun!

She’s the author of two dating books, HOW TO DATE LIKE A GROWN-UP and STOP GETTING DUMPED. It’s one of my favorite sites for dating tips and advice, and the videos are pretty funny.
