In the Romantic Period, why did writers begin to focus more on the indivual rather than the general?

was there a change in the world that made these authors change from writing about the general (i.e. in the 18th century) to writing more about personal feelings in the Romantic Period?

It followed the Neoclassical era, which was very serious, logical, and always dealt with the masses. If society was happy, man too could be happy. The Romantic period drifted away from that. It focused on art and inner expression, something that the Neoclassical era shunned. The Romantic era was more along the lines of…if man can be happy, society can follow suit.

What makes a good romantic relationship in novels?

I’m writing a novel at the moment, and as in most novels, my two main characters have a romantic relationship.

I’m just wondering what makes a good romantic relationship? It won’t be a typical dating one (I hate those anyway) because the novel is set in the middle of a huge war, so I’m just looking for hints&tips on how to make a decent romance.
It’s not a romance novel in the slightest by the way. The main focus is the war, this is just a subplot.
Oh, and the guy is 17 and the girl is 24.

Well they might not be allowed to be together. They might be separated. they might be pretending not to acknowledge their situation

I wanna take my boyfriend out for a nice romantic picnic down by the beach for our anniversary, but I’m not sure what to bring for us to eat. I need some good simple romantic dinner Ideas.
And we don’t drink, not even wine.

A grilled chicken breast/pasta salad with cherry tomatoes, green olives, chopped basil and green onion… tossed in a balsamic vinegrett, a sun dried tomato focattia (you can buy them in the bakery dept at the grocery store), some cold jasmine rice with lemon zest, red onion, fresh dill, drissled with a little lemon juice, white wine vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper, and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Bring some white wine for the meal and some champagne for dessert. If you are not old enough to drink, bring a sparkling apple cyder and some hot chocolate in a warming container. No way you could go wrong with that. Now I’m hungry…

I am writing a romantic comedy about 2 teenagers, and the girl likes the guy, but the guy doesn’t, but he soon finds out that he does. And it is too short, and i need some new ideas to make it longer.

1. the plot that you are trying to develop is the classic boy-likes-girl-but girl-hates boy and vice versa storyline. And you have every right to write about that. To pull it off, you are going to have to be VERY VERY creative! I pray you find that inspiration some where…

I wanna suprise my boyfriend with a nice romantic dinner, but I’m not the best cook but i want to impress him and make something romantic && delicious. Any good ideas?

Shrimp fettuccine Alfredo, Caesar salad, & garlic bread.

You can probably find the shrimp already cooked or at least peeled and deveined. That will cut down on some of the time. Buy a good Alfredo sauce and then all you have to do is cook the pasta and mix it all together. You can buy prepackaged Caesar salad and the best Caesar dressing is the Paul Newman brand. Its sooo delicious! Buy a frozen loaf of garlic bread so all you have to do is throw it in the oven.

If you’re over 21, a bottle of Ballatore Gran Spumante is a nice touch. Its a sparkling wine, but it doesn’t have that tart taste that a lot of wines have and that a lot of people don’t like. Get a couple of candle sticks and voila…you have a romantic dinner that can be prepared in about 45 minutes or less.

I want to cook a romantic dinner for two for my boyfriend!

Having Prawn cocktail for starters, and want to do a main using, chicken, asparagus, noodles or pasta as the main ingredients! Any ideas please?

Asparagus, Chicken and Penne Pasta

1 (16 ounce) package dry penne pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided (or more, to taste)
3/4 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves – cut into bite size pieces
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
4 cloves garlic, minced
12 ounces asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook chicken. When cooked all the way through and slightly browned, remove from pan. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, crushed red pepper, garlic, and asparagus. Cook until asparagus is tender.

Mix in chicken with the asparagus mixture and cook together for 2 minutes. Add this mixture to the cooked penne pasta and toss with Parmesan cheese. Salt and paper to taste.
