Can you request me some good romance books?

Posted on February 6th, 2010 by admin

The type of romance books that draw my attention are ones that have a storyline based around forbidden romance either by danger or whatever. Please request some – apart from the twilight series, i’ve read all those.

I personally loved pride and prejudice itll always be considered a classic

Also the secret circle series by L.J Smith is an awsome read, along with The Vampire Diaries, also by L.J Smth.

Always Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn will obviously be a choice by Stephany Meyer.

Also the House Of Night series by the Casts is highly reconmended :D
*Marked(one)*
*Betrayed(two*
*Choses(three)*
*Untamed(four)*
*Hunted(five)*
*Tempted(six, alost not out)* dont let the length scare you, let the addictiveness scare you :D

*Library Finds*

Okay i spend some time in the library and found a few intresting books (romance value varies)

*Gregory the overlander(awsome, not much romance)*
*A curse dark as gold(it has good romance, but kinda boring in the begining)*
*Among the hidden(no romance what-so-ever, but it is FANTASTIC)*
*Small Steps(fowllow up of holes, has romance, music and SPLOOSH)*

Okay i have alot more in the library section but its gettin late gtg :D best of luck

What are some good new romance books set in the Victorian Era?

Posted on January 30th, 2010 by admin

I’ve read A Great And Terrible Beauty, and the rest of the series, and I really like books like those. With mystery and romance. But I really like books set in the victorian era, do you know of any?

A Countess Below Stairs by Eva Ibbotsan takes place after WW1

summary:

Desperate to keep her past a secret, Anna is nearly overwhelmed by her new duties—not to mention her instant attraction to rupert, the handsome earl of westerholme. to make matters worse, rupert appears to be falling for her as well. As their attraction grows stronger, Anna finds it more and more difficult to keep her most dearly held secrets from unraveling. And then there’s the small matter of rupert’s beautiful and nasty fiancée. . . ."

What are some really good romance books for girls ages 12-15?

Posted on January 28th, 2010 by admin

I love books but i dont know what books to get. I mostly want to read romance though. Help?

Catherine, Called Birdy by Karen Cushman is set in the medieval ages, where Catherine’s greedy father wants her to marry someone in order to make money off of her (as was customary). But if she has anything to say about it, she’ll marry someone because of love, not money. Very funny but the language is old-fashioned.
A more modern version of this would be by Louise Rannison and her hit series, The Confessions of Georgia Nickelson. Book 1 in this series (Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging) is basically about her life in present-day England, trying to get Robbie the Sex God to finally notice her for the right reasons.
If these novels seem like your cup of tea, Janette Rallison has two very funny novels: Fame, Glory and Other Things On My Too-Do List…and It’s a Mall World After All. The latter is the best in my opinion. All of these books are hilarious and very believable, and feature mild romance.

If you’ve read Twilight or appreciate the latest craze in vampire novels, these books would be good for you. The Night World Trilogy by L.J. Smith is a collection of three short stories per. book about a secret society called Night World, where vampires, witches, and other mythical creatures walk about us unknown. The rules are harsh and strict, but the two main ones are a) do not tell a human of your existence and b) do not have any relationship with a human. This is what happens when one breaks the rules.
Vampire Diaries by the same author is set in a different world, and is very similar to Twilight.
Vampire Academy (Richelle Mead) is one of the more believable vampire stories out there, but don’t make the two main characters your role models or you will be in a lot of trouble.

If you read books about everyday people your age or older, perhaps the Gallagher Girl Series is for you. The first novel (I’d Tell You That I Love You, But Then I’d Have To Kill You – Ally Carter) is about a girl who goes to a secret academy for female spies, but on a mission falls in love with an average boy. Wanting to interact with him she convinces her friends to help her meet him in secret.
An even more realistic novel might be Just Listen by Sara Dessen. Her novels tend to be very good and she creates a very good picture. Outdated but still great is The Face On the Milk Carten by Caroline B. Cooney. Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli is another must-read. Guitar Girl (Sarra Manning) is about a young girl who wants to be in a band and how her life soon falls apart under the pressure of fame.

Shannon Hale (The Goose Girl) and Zoe Marriott (Swan Kingdom) are two authors that rewrote old fairy tales and made them much different. They are very similar but I love them both.

Some of my favorite books would be the ones listed here, like Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr. The book is about a girl called Aislinn (ASH-ling) who has lived her life with the Sight – inherited from her mother and grandmother. It is the gift of seeing fairies. It is frightening, for these fairies are far from the civilized ones we read about. Then two of them, Court fairies, no less, start stalking her, and she needs to find out what they want before it becomes too late for her.
Another one like it is The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong. It’s hard to describe but is mostly about a young girl who wakes up one morning with her period and the ability to see ghosts. Very freaky. Love is Hell is a bunch of short stories featuring this author.
Uglies (Scott Westerfeld) and it’s follow-ups, Pretties, Specials and Extras, are about a society in the future where looks mean everything. And when Tally Youngblood is told she may stay ugly forever, she may have to betray a friend and countless others in order to fit into her world. Hard to get into the worth the read.
Finally, another book set in the future, is Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. A fabulous book. Read it if you read nothing else!

Non-romantic books to read would include The Youngest Spy – Barry McDivitt and The Clique – Lisi Harrison. Hope this helps you!

The Luxe by Anna Godbersen

A big, sumptuous tale of catty girls, dark secrets and windswept romance unfurls in this compulsively readable novel of late-19th-century New York City socialites. I have just finished all of the books in the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, and I need something to read until the other book in the series get’s out. I like romance, and some horror as well.

The Vampire Kisses Series by Ellen Schreiber

———— Vampire Kisses ————
In her small town dubbed "Dullsville," sixteen-year-old Raven-a vampire-crazed, goth-girl-is an outcast. But not for long… The intriguing and rumored-to-be haunted mansion on top of Benson Hill has stood vacant and boarded-up for years. That is, until its mysteriously strange new occupants move in. Who are these creepy people-especially the handsome, dark and elusive Alexander Sterling? Or rather, what are they? Could the town prattle actually ring true? Are they vampires? Raven, who secretly covets a vampire kiss, both at risk of her own mortality and Alexander’s loving trust, is dying to uncover the truth.

———— Vampire Kisses II: Kissing Coffins ————
Life in “Dullsville” has become far from dull for goth-girl Raven. After meeting Alexander Sterling—a night-thriving, shadowy dream guy—her dark world suddenly has a bright glow. But as in her favorite movie, Kissing Coffins, Raven knows that love always has its complications. And Alexander has a secret; a secret she must quietly guard. When he mysteriously disappears, Raven finds herself on a dangerous chase to find him. What she encounters is more terrifying than she could have imagined—including a life-transforming decision she may not be ready to sink her teeth into. Ellen Schreiber presents a chilling and suspenseful sequel to her popular tale of an unusual teen romance, Vampire Kisses.

———— Vampire Kisses III: Vampireville————
For goth-girl Raven, dating her dream boyfriend is complicated, especially as Alexander’s secret means that they can only see each other at night. And now the pair must be extra wary in the dark with Alexander’s arch-rival Jagger appearing around town. As if Jagger isn’t enough cause for worry, Luna, his strikingly pale sister has also surfaced, and seems to have her sights set on Raven’s own longtime nemesis, Trevor. Together, Raven and Alexander must begin a terrifying search for Jagger and Luna’s hideout to drive them away. That is, if it’s not already too late to save Dullsville from permanently becoming Vampireville.

———— Vampire Kisses IV: Dance with a Vampire ————

There’s a new vampire in town. His name is Valentine Maxwell. Goth-girl Raven knows this latest intruder can only mean trouble—he’s the younger sibling of two vampires she fought to drive out of Dullsville. But when her brother Billy befriends this dangerous tween night prowler, the stakes are suddenly higher. Though torn by the excitement of every teen girl’s fantasy—attending prom with her boyfriend—Raven must do everything she can to protect Billy. Valentine’s appearance may even pose further threats. Could he somehow know Raven’s innermost feelings about becoming immortal for her true love, Alexander? The far-from-ordinary romance of these two teen outsiders takes another surprise-filled spin in the fourth book of Ellen Schreiber’s applauded Vampire Kisses series.

P.S cant wait till breaking dawn and twilight the movie comes out!! :P

What are some good paranormal romance books?

Posted on January 15th, 2010 by admin

I really enjoy reading Kresley Cole’s books. Other than that, I can’t seem to find any good paranormal romance novels. I’ve heard that Sherrilyn Kenyon is good, but I tried reading her "Dark Side of the Moon" book, and I hated it. Not sure if that represents the rest of her work though. Any good book/author reccomendations would be greatly appreciated!

For Sherrilyn Kenyon you have to start with "Fantasy Lover" and "Night Pleasures". IMHO they are the best (and the first two) of her dark hunter series. "Dark Side of the Moon" was not really a very good example of this wonderful series.

You should also try J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood books because they are incredible! The first book is called "Dark Lover" but my favorites are "Lover Eternal" and "Lover Revealed".

I like Christine Feehan’s Carpathian books which starts with "Dark Prince" (yes, lots of these books seem to have the word "dark" in them!).

You could also try Mona Lisa Awakening and Mona Lisa Blossoming by Sunny which were really very good. However, I have to warn you that they are a bit more graphic than the mainstream paranormal romance stories.

Rhonda Thompson has the Wild Wulfs of London series about werewolves. The books are a mix of historical/paranormal romance. I’ve enjoyed those books so far too.

If you want something a bit lighter than the ones previously mentioned you could try Katie MacAlister who has a vampire series (I think "Sex and the Single Vampire" is the first book but I’m not absolutely sure) and her Aisling Grey Guardian series which the first book is called "You Slay Me".

Also Stephenie Rowe has some humorous paranormal romances. The first of the series is called "Date Me Baby, One More Time".

Hope you find something you like :-)

What romance books do you recommend for me?

Posted on January 11th, 2010 by admin

I’ve read the whole twilight series and fell head over heels in LOVE with them :) so I’ve been done with them for a while now, and I want to find another book or series that involves romance. Edward and Bella type romance, lol. Something addicting. What books would you recommend?

Demon in My View

Twilight was basically a rip-off of that book, and no one noticed. Seriously.
